Bangladesh High Commissioner Calls on New South Wales Governor
The High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Australia, H.E. Mr. F.M. Borhan Uddin, paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, at Government House in Sydney on 27 July 2026.
The meeting was held in a warm and constructive atmosphere, focusing on a wide range of areas including education, agriculture, trade, skills development, migration, and people-to-people connectivity.

During the meeting, the High Commissioner highlighted the vibrant Bangladeshi diaspora in Sydney and the growing number of Bangladeshi students in Australia. He also underscored the potential for collaboration with Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions, as well as opportunities for skilled migration, particularly in the mining sector.
Mr. Borhan Uddin further briefed the Governor on recent challenges faced by Bangladeshi students regarding visa rejections. He also outlined Bangladesh’s demographic strengths, achievements in food security, and the country’s expanding trade and investment prospects.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing future cooperation across key sectors.
